Author: When a Russian friend of mine visited and spent two weeks with us, my family and I had a little taste of russian food. Most of her dishes were a variety of soup, dumplings and pancakes. We were quite sad when her vacation was finally over and she had to go back to Russia.
During her stay with us, my kids won’t stop asking her questions about Russia. And she would tell them interesting stuff, like its history, culture and such. She even told us that the magnetic north pole location was heading towards Russia since 2009. The location of the magnetic north pole moves constantly with time. We really enjoyed her company, and she enjoyed ours, she even invited us to go to Russia and promised to take care of our invitation letters. An invitation letter is an official and regulated document that is needed, in most cases, applying for a russian federation visa. And just after a few months when she went back to russia, she called us and said our invitation letters were already taken care of.
